Baptist Health Home Health Network has been providing hospice for over thirty years. But we wanted a way to serve persons with serious, chronic illnesses who want to continue curative treatment and therapy- but who are not at the point of end-of-life care. We turned to Jen Kiehl for help. She crafted a Needs Assessment, pointing out the pros and cons of opening a community palliative care practice. Jen provided sound expertise to design our program to meet our objectives. We received a model framework of operations, and educated us on a target population. She even suggested staffing- particular FTEs as well as contract staff- as we built our program. Jen pointed out what forms we needed- Medicare, CLIA, tax IDs, etc. “Baptist Health Supportive Care at Home” is now in our second year of operation. We are indebted to Jen Kiehl for getting us – and our patients- a well-designed, Medicare-compliant program.
